What We Do
Keeping families stay close to their ill or injured children and the resources they need
The Red Shoe Society is a young professionals group dedicated to supporting the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The mission of RMHC is a welcoming “home-away-from-home” for families with children facing medical challenges, providing an atmosphere of comfort, hope and courage.
Red Shoe Society members raise awareness and funds for the house through a variety of social and volunteer activities and strive to create a fun and welcoming environment where emerging community leaders can network and share their philanthropic interests.
Fundraising and Awareness:
Red Shoe Society (RSS) members plan several fundraisers throughout the year. RSS plans the annual McNight to Remember Gala After-Party. The McNight Gala is Ronald McDonald House Charities signature fundraising event. RSS provides volunteers, committee members and orchestrates the After-Party for guests. In addition, RSS hosts its own signature event – the Strikes and Spares Because We Care Bowling Tournament. Red Shoe Society also demonstrates their passion for fundraising and awareness through other fundraisers throughout the year to support the House such as comedy show ticket sales and Diamondback’s baseball game ticket sales.
Connecting with Families/Volunteering:
RSS members gather regularly throughout the year to cook and serve dinner to families staying at the House. These meals provide great support to the families and give the Red Shoe Society members a unique opportunity to interact and connect with the families who stay at RMHC as well as with each other.
All members are encouraged to take an active role in the organization which includes participation in as many dinners and Red Shoe Society events as possible. In addition, all new members are encouraged to take a tour of the House.
