2011- 2012 POP TAB CHALLENGE

It's that time of year again, and the pop tab challenge officially starts September 1st! Collecting pop tabs is a wonderful way to teach kids about recycling and how they can have an impact on their community! By collecting tabs your school will help support families who travel to Phoenix with children needing medical treatment. 

NEW for 2011-2012! In the last few years, we have received feedback from several schools asking if there are any other ways students can make a more “measurable” impact (if you will) on the house. While it is often difficult for us to predict how many pop tabs it takes to cover the cost of a single night stay for a family here (the going rate for aluminum is constantly changing) we do know that it takes approximately 15,000 pennies to cover the cost of one night stay!

Collecting pennies is another extremely easy way to get students involved in giving back to their community and, like pop tabs, they can be a very effective teaching tool in the classroom! This year, we are excited to launch our PENNY Challenge! You will find all of the details for the Penny Challenge and the Pop Tab Challenge in the registration packet.
