It was "A McNight to Remember" for "the House that Love Built"
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Phoenix’s annual gala, A McNight to Remember, was an evening that would not soon be forgotten, thanks to our many generous supporters!
More than 450 guests attended the elegant celebration on November 14th and helped RMHC of Phoenix raise a record-breaking $320,000 to support families needing a “home away from home” while their children undergo medical treatment in the Valley.
The event, which was hosted at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel, featured a raffle to win a fantastic Hawaiian Vacation and a silent auction offering more than 100 items. Guests eagerly placed their bids vying for their most wanted items before heading into the ballroom for a dinner hosted by Master of Ceremonies Marty Manning of KEZ 99.9 and an exciting live auction led by Auctioneer Paul Ramirez.
A heart-warming point of the evening was when special guests, Karen & Corie Remmetter, shared their experiences staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Gala attendees first watched a short video featuring Corie, who survived a traumatic single car accident during the first few weeks of her freshman year at University of Arizona. Then, Karen took the stage to share her family’s gratitude to supporters who make the services at Ronald McDonald House possible.
Each of your gifts, no matter how small or large, are immeasurable. It is your generous donation of time, leadership, volunteering, and financial contributions that provide the amenities, hope, and support to the families throughout the year. - Karen Remmetter
After Karen’s moving sentiments, Paul kicked-off the Help-A-Family Appeal. The energy in the room peaked as guests raised their bid cards in a flurry—almost too many to count!—to help families like the Remmetters who find support at Ronald McDonald House. An outstanding $56,700 was raised through this special appeal!
The evening could not end before we acknowledged our Heart of the House honorees for their dedication and outstanding contributions of service: Steve Good & APS.
After an extraordinary evening, guests including McNight Co-chairs and McDonald’s restaurant owner/operators Wayne and Dorothy Stingley, took to the dance floor to boogie to the sounds of Valley-favorite Crosstown Traffic! (Honoree and Board Member Steve Good plays the trombone with this fantastic dance band!)
Thank you to everyone (including our many event volunteers) who made A McNight to Remember a huge success for Ronald McDonald House and the families we serve. Please join us next year at A McNight to Remember as we mark the 25th Anniversary of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix. More information will be announced soon.
