What We Do
Keeping families together to help kids heal and cope better
The need for in-kind donations is tremendous at Ronald McDonald House. In-Kind donations free up additional funding to better serve the families who find a home away from home at the House. With two Houses and 63 bedrooms, grounds to maintain and offices to run, the list of in-kind donations needed is extensive. We would be happy to provide you with a receipt for the value of your donation for tax purposes. We always appreciate your help! Please click on the below link for a list of items that we can put to good use at the Ronald McDonald House.
RMHC Phoenix is fortunate that many individuals, businesses, and groups host Community Fundraisers such as special events and promotions to support children and their families who are staying at RMHC.
If you are interested in hosting an independent fundraising event or creating a special way to fundraiser for RMHC Phoenix at your business, school, organization or church, please review our Community Fundraiser Application & Guidelines and give us a call!

ONGOING COMMUNITY FUNDRAISERS
Newspaper Sales in McDonald’s
A portion of all proceeds from the sale of newspapers in local McDonald’s restaurants are contributed to RMHC Phoenix.
Donation Boxes in McDonald’s
When you put your change in the counter and drive-thru donation boxes at any local McDonald’s restaurant your money is donated directly to RMHC Phoenix. In 2010 alone, we received over $400,000 in contributions collected in the McDonald’s donation boxes. Drop your change and make a difference!
Deals of the Day
Who knew shopping for deals could make a difference at the Ronald McDonald House? Support RMHC and subscribe to these great “deal-a-day” websites and “be-in-the-know” about exceptional discounts from local businesses such as restaurants, spas ! A portion of your purchase will be donated to RMHC.
GROUPS, ORGANIZATIONS, and INDIVIDUALS…
….can easily collect pop tabs for RMHC too! Tabs can be dropped off at the House on Roanoke or taken to your local scrap metal dealer (we partner with Arizona Environmental Recycling) and the proceeds donated to “Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix” (there’s a House in Tucson too, so it’s important to specify Phoenix.) Please let the development office know if you’ve donated your tabs directly to the recycler- so we can be on the look out for a check!
Not all tabs are created equal!
In the past we have encouraged groups to collect anything that looked like a pop tab (i.e.- soup tabs, cat food tabs, etc.) While most soda can tabs are made out of aluminum, sometimes other can tabs (such as the ones mentioned above) are not. When we turn our bins into the recycler, too many steel tabs mixed in with the aluminum can downgrade the quality of the bin and decrease the amount of money we receive for it.
As a rule of thumb:
If it sticks to a magnet, it is NOT aluminum.
(Usually these “sticky” tabs are steel.)
Requests for small collection houses can be made to Manny Lucero at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Large houses are limited and must be picked up directly at our offices at the Roanoke address. (Please email beforehand to ensure we have some in stock.)
If you wish to obtain additional houses we ask for a $1.50 donation per small house and $3.00 donation per large house. (Quantity available may be limited, depending on stock available at House.)
You can collect the tabs in whatever you want, but here’s how we need you to turn them in at the House:
Smaller amounts of tabs should be bagged in gallon size ziplock bags and clearly labeled with the date, your contact information, and (if you know) the weight of the tabs turned in. Larger amounts of tabs should be bagged in large trash bags (preferably the clear kind) and labeled with the date, your contact information, and (if you know) the weight of the tabs turned in.
Tabs will not be accepted in milk jugs, liter bottles, water jugs, or any similar container. They are very difficult and time consuming to empty when they are stored this way.
Thank you for your interest in sponsoring a family dinner at the Ronald McDonald House! Volunteer groups plan the menu, purchase the food, cook and serve the meal, and clean the kitchen afterwards. It is one of the few activities at the House that offers volunteers the opportunity to interact with families staying here. The group is invited to eat with the families and tour the House that evening.
Please review the calendar for open dates to serve dinner. Once you have picked an open date and which House you would like to serve, email Helain Day at email@example.com with the information and a group name in order to confirm your request. You will be placed on the calendar and sent a confirmation email within days.
We update the dinner calendar Monday – Thursday of each week.

Thank you for your interest in adopting a room at the Ronald McDonald House and creating a Design from the Heart. Community decorators, be they individuals, organizations or business groups, bring a unique gift to the House. Unlike a hotel, every room at the Ronald McDonald House is different with those special decorative touches to make our House feel even more like home.
Each decorating team must meet with our Assistant House Manager to review the room theme and plans for decorating before shopping begins. We will supply you with a donation letter which you may use to solicit donations to help stock and furnish your room.
