What We Do
Keeping families together to help kids heal and cope better
Each Ronald McDonald House is owned and operated separately as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. Each House is run by a volunteer Board of Directors which is composed of community members, members of the medical and business communities, and local McDonald’s owner/operators. In Phoenix, Ronald McDonald Houses and Ronald McDonald Family Room are owned and operated by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix, Inc. All of our funding comes from private and charitable donations. Although McDonald’s restaurants are very involved in our fundraising efforts, none of the Ronald McDonald Houses are owned by McDonald’s. We have a licensing agreement with McDonald’s enabling us to use the RMHC name and logo.
McDonald’s plays a critical role sponsoring fundraisers in the restaurants to benefit RMHC, including the canister donations from the public. In addition, McDonald’s owner/operators serve on our board of directors and volunteer expertise in many areas, such as construction, finance, public relations, marketing and management.
